This is the start of your next chapter together, so let’s capture it in a way that actually feels like you. Not stiff, not overly posed, just honest moments between the two. The goal is always engagement photos that feel natural and authentic to you, whether we end up in the mountains around Canmore and Banff or stick closer to home and wander around your favourite spots in Calgary. And don't worry if you feel awkward in front of the camera. That's what I'm here for.

Engagement sessions are also a great excuse to slow down together for a bit. Life gets busy fast, and this is a chance to pause, hang out, and connect. It’s not about performing or knowing what to do in front of the camera. I’ll guide you through everything so it feels easy, even if you’ve never had photos taken together before. Nine times out of 10 I hear couples tell me they're awkward in front of the camera, and I love to prove them wrong.

A lot of couples use this time to get comfortable with their photographer before the wedding day too, which makes a huge difference later on. We spend a lot of time together on your wedding day, and I'm there for all the personal moments and emotions, so it can help to have some one-on-one time beforehand.

If you’re planning your engagement session, here are a few tips to. keep in mind: incorporate locations or activities that are meaningful to you (where you had your first date, your favourite park, and so on), wear outfits that feel like your normal style but a little elevated, and try not to overpack your day so you’re relaxed when we meet up. It can also be helpful to plan your makeup trial for the same day as your engagement session to see how your wedding look translates on-camera. Overall, think of it less like a photoshoot and more like a date where I happen to tag along with a camera.
