Kananaskis is the quickest way to get stunning mountain scenery without venturing too far from Calgary. The drive is usually under an hour, and it tends to be quieter than Canmore or Banff. There are plenty of hidden gems to explore here! Many of the best photo locations are just a short drive from each other, so we can get lots of variety without having to spend too much time travelling.

KANANASKIS ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

READY TO BOOK?

Kananaskis is stunning during any season. In the fall, it's famous for golden larch trees, while summer offers gorgeous sunsets and lush greenery. Winter can be a striking mix of snow, remaining golden hues of fall and crystal-clear lakes. No matter when we go, you'll get stunning photos. Kananaskis engagement sessions tend to be more private and quiet, which can be helpful if you're feeling camera-shy or want a more relaxed experience. I have my favourite photo locations, but I'd love to hear yours or if there's a place that's special to the two of you.  My biggest tips are to dress for the weather so you can enjoy the session without being too hot or cold, and wear appropriate footwear for the terrain.

Many of my couples drive out from Calgary for our session, but some like to extend their time with a stay at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, which has a top-tier Nordic Spa next door. You'll want to take a dip in the hot pools.
