The Brownstone is a beautiful wedding venue in the heart of Calgary. The team behind the venue owns Venue 308 and The Studios at Vic Park (only a block away), which are two of my other favourite spaces in the city. They are pros at executing events of all styles and sizes, and they’re fantastic to work with. The decor at The Brownstone is contemporary, but it’s minimal enough to allow couples to put their own spin on it.
Morgan and Dylan planned a beautiful celebration at The Brownstone was true to their personalities. They started the day with a traditional ceremony at the Central United Church in downtown Calgary before heading to their reception at The Brownstone. Their wedding had a Beauty and the Beast theme, which I’d never seen before. Their vendors (who are all listed at the bottom of this post) did a fantastic job bringing the vision to life. Morgan and Dylan opted to begin their photo coverage at their ceremony. Your wedding photos should capture what matters most to you, and if you’d like to skip getting-ready photos that’s OK! You’ll still receive a beautiful gallery with the most important moments of your celebration.
The Brownstone can be a one-stop wedding destination, too. There are two gorgeous getting-ready spaces — one is dark and moody while the other is light and airy. The main area of the venue space can transform into a beautiful ceremony setting with versatile layouts. There’s also plenty of room to host a buffet or sit-down dinner, plus space for a dance floor. There’s even an outdoor patio space at the back if you’d like some fresh air.
Capacity: 200 seated, 250 standing cocktail
Getting-Ready Space: Yes, there are two spacious rooms on-site. The team gave the Ruby a light and airy feel, highlighting it with pops of colour and an ensuite washroom. They styled the Gary with rich, dark tones and sophisticated leather accents
Parking: There is a large hourly parking lot across the street, or there is four-hour street parking out front. It’s easy to book an Uber or taxi from the venue if you’d like to skip parking.
Catering: Not on-site, but there is a well-equipped kitchen space for outside catering companies to prepare food. Host a plated or buffet dinner in the space.
Extras: A private 1,800 sq ft patio included and day-of coordinator services are available.
