An Azuridge Estate Hotel wedding feels like a getaway without venturing too far from the city. Even better? You can book out the entire estate for your wedding, so everyone there will be on your guest list. The team is known for its exceptional hospitality, and you even get your own wedding butler. Every space feels photo-worthy, whether it’s the immaculate gardens, the main buildings, or the walking paths at the edge of the property.
As a Calgary wedding photographer, I wanted to share some tips and knowledge about one of my top venues in the region.

The estate was once a private residence, but it was opened to the public on New Year’s Day 2012. It sits atop 13 acres and features 13 guest rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows for gorgeous views. Its name comes from the Azure colour of Alberta’s brilliant blue skies, combined with “ridge”, which is a nod to its location in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.
The property also features a spa for some pre-wedding pampering, the Opal dining room and games room.

Azuridge is one of those venues that works any time of year. Indoor and outdoor spaces allow for plenty of flexibility (Alberta weather can be unpredictable), and everything at an Azuridge Estate Hotel wedding just flows — from getting ready to your ceremony and dancing the night away.
Keep reading for a look at the event spaces throughout the property.

The Grounds
If you’ve admired Azuridge ceremony photos, you’ve likely seen the gorgeous grounds. Ceremonies can either face the property or the scenery beyond (think Canadian Rockies foothills). Either view is gorgeous, but keep in mind the time of day your ceremony will be at and where the sun will hit. The Grounds can seat up to 250 of your favourite people, too.
The Tourmaline
The largest space at Azuridge, and one of its most popular for receptions. There’s tons of natural light, and the large doors can be opened during the summer for a breezy indoor-outdoor feel. The white draping and timber beams create a customizable canvas that can fit a range of wedding-day aesthetics.

The Celestite
Picture your ceremony in front of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the estate grounds. The sleek, contemporary room is perfect for a winter ceremony (or as a backup if weather doesn’t cooperate). It’s also just the right size to host a more intimate dinner reception.
Terraces and Decks
Smaller celebrations can take place on the terraces of the Emerald and Sapphire buildings. They’re the perfect size for dinner with a view or a more intimate ceremony.
The Gazebo
The Gazebo is a really interesting space on the Azuridge grounds. Couples love it for cocktail hour, and it spreads over two floors. You can use it for smaller ceremonies or receptions, too, and it also provides a new vantage point for photos.

There’s something really special about Azuridge, and it’s such a peaceful setting for a wedding. You feel like you’ve travelled somewhere else entirely without being too far from the city, and having everything in one place makes for an easy, stress-free planning process. We can also maximize our time together without having to worry about additional travel time, parking or other road-related chaos. Every space is gorgeous, too, so it’s really a photographer’s dream.
Azuridge is still a bit of a hidden gem (pun intended), and it’s one of the only venues of its kind in the region. I’ve never been to a wedding or event there that hasn’t been memorable (for all the right reasons), and the scenery never gets old. Plus, you get your own wedding butler. How cool is that? They’re always around when you need them without being intrusive, and they have a ton of insider knowledge about the property.

Azuridge is the place for couples who want their day to feel effortless and create an unforgettable experience for their guests. It truly feels like a destination wedding without having to travel too far, and you can make a weekend of it with your friends and family. Plus, the food is amazing and the team will make sure you can enjoy the day rather than stressing about details. You’re in great hands here
Make time for golden hour photos. The estate is gorgeous all day, but golden hour is especially magical. We won’t take more than 15 to 20 minutes (I want to get you back to your guests ASAP), but it’s a chance for the two of you to breathe and be together before the party really starts.
Trust your vendor team, too. Everyone at Azuridge is an experienced pro, and your vendor team has your back. We want you to have the best day!
