Jory and Chad marked their first anniversary with a relaxed and fun anniversary session in their first home together. We took some photos with their adorable cat before heading out into their neighbourhood. Jory repurposed the short chiffon skirt from her custom wedding gown — designed by Calgary bridal designer NRT Fashions — to create a stylish new outfit that incorporated something special from her wedding day.
How to make the most of your Calgary anniversary photo session:
- Turn it into a date night. You’re already looking fantastic, so make some dinner reservations or plan a fun evening together after your session. (This is what Jory and Chad did)
- Consider getting your hair and makeup done if you’re not confident doing it yourself. You can emulate the look you had on your wedding day or try something completely new.
- Consider meaningful locations, whether it’s where you had your first date, where you had your wedding ceremony (especially if it was outdoors and easily accessible), your first home together or your favourite spot in the city.
- Incorporate pieces of your wedding attire, if possible. This could be your shoes, jewellery, ties and cufflinks, or you can even wear your full wedding ensemble again if you want to get more use out of it!
- Relax. You’re already had photos done together on your wedding day, and this can be a fun way to take a break from the daily routine and connect. Enjoy each other’s company and let your photographer guide you.
