Couples looking for a trendy, industrial wedding venue with just a little bit of edge can look no further than the Ramsay Design Centre. There’s you’ll find two distinct venues. The Hemingway Room is steeped in history and a bold yet charming space accented by striking chandeliers and soaring exposed ceilings. The Parlour Room blends modern and vintage styling complete with opulent velvet sofas, rich leather and crystal chandeliers.
Full disclosure: I was married at the Ramsay Design Centre, and it was a fantastic experience. I’ve since been lucky enough to photograph weddings there and be part of their preferred vendor roster.

Additional Services: The Ramsay Design Centre, run by The Commons, offers numerous additional services to help couples have stress-free wedding days. Here’s a taste of what they offer.
The Neighbourhood: The Ramsay and nearby Inglewood neighbourhoods are two of my favourite spots in Calgary. There’s plenty to do for guests staying in the area, or if they need to pass time between your ceremony and reception. I recommend a pint at a nearby brewery like Dandy Brewing (right across the street), Good Cheer (located in the same building), or Cold Garden Beverage Company (a short walk away). Calgary Heritage Roasting Co. is next door if they need a caffeine fix, too.
The Hemingway Room is such a versatile space. I’ve seen wedding decor of all styles work well here, and the venue is truly a blank canvas. The venue is has just the right amount of edge, and the exposed brick and chandeliers give it a modern yet vintage feel. The neighbourhood is a fun place for wedding portraits, and it’s close to green spaces like Pearce Estate Park. The team behind the venue is also fantastic. I’ve worked with them on numerous occasions, and it’s always been a positive experience. That’s a big plus when I’m photographing your wedding day.
