I photographed Amber’s wedding in May 2022, and we decided to revive her gown for Love the Dress bridal photos at Horseshoe Canyon in the Alberta Badlands. A Love the Dress session is a fantastic opportunity to wear your wedding attire again and style it in a new way, whether you work a traditional wedding gown or opted for a bespoke pantsuit. NRT Fashions, an award-winning Calgary designer who specializes in unique bridal attire, designed Amber’s colourful wedding gown. Nicole (the owner of NRT) is a master at making any idea a reality. She truly captures each bride’s style, and I’ve been lucky enough to photograph several of her creations.
Amber and I hiked down to the bottom of Horseshoe Canyon for her golden hour Love the Dress bridal photos. Amber is also a talented makeup artist, who I love to work with, so of course her makeup was on point. She accessorized her gown with a wide-brimmed hat and cowboy boots to complement the badlands setting. The results were far different than her original bridal photos, which we shot at The River’s Edge Devon.
