Morgan and Dylan planned a beautiful celebration this summer that was so true to their personalities. They started the day with a traditional ceremony at the Central United Church in downtown Calgary before heading to their reception at The Brownstone. Their wedding had a Beauty and the Beast theme, which I'd never seen before. Their vendors (who are all listed at the bottom of this post) did a fantastic job bringing the vision to life.

 

The Brownstone is a beautiful space in the heart of Calgary. The team behind the venue owns Venue 308 and The Studios at Vic Park (only a block away), which are two of my other favourite spaces in the city. They are pros at executing venues of all styles and sizes, and they're fantastic to work with. The decor is contemporary yet minimal enough to allow couples to put their own spin on it and express themselves in their design. Morgan and Dylan had their ceremony at a different venue, but The Brownstone can be a one-stop wedding destination too. There are two gorgeous getting-ready spaces — one is dark and moody while the other is light and airy — and the space can transform into a beautiful ceremony setting too. There's also plenty of room to host a buffet or sit-down dinner, with room left over for a dance floor. Morgan and Dylan's was packed throughout the time I was there, which I always love to see. Congratulations, Morgan and Dylan!

Capacity: 200 seated, 250 standing cocktail

Getting-Ready Space: Yes, there are two spacious rooms on-site. One is decorated in a light and airy style with pops of colour (and an ensuite washroom) while the other is done in rich dark tones with leather accents.

Parking: There is a large parking lot across the street that is paid per hour, or there is four-hour street parking out ftont

Catering: Not on-site, but there is a well-equipped kitchen space for outside catering companies to prepare food. Plated or buffet dinners can be done in the space.

Extras: Private patio included and day-of coordinator services available.
